Default ways to keep car and engine fresh

my car is coming up on the dreaded 100,000 mark. i was wondering what you guys do to keep your cars fresh and running well. what additives you use etc. i usually use MMO once a month or so in the gas and the oil.

100k is not a hugh deal for a honda. My old Teg had 160+ ran great, finally the trans gave up and i sold it for something new.

Either way i never used anything on that car. Just keep up on the maintance.

If you have not allready change the timing belt and water pump. Give the car a real good tune-up, Keep up on the oil changes and you car will be fine for a long time!!

basically, just keep it maintained. change oil every 3k, and if you haven't done it, change timing belt, and water pump

Honda's last forever.

But some of the weaker parts, i.e timing belts, etc, Should be replaced.

And if you havent bought some new rubber get some - I love the grip of fresh tires. Although I *hope* you have some new shoes on :D.

Anyway definately get some good oil, whatever company you prefer. And make a mental note of every 3k.

GL and keep that Honda off of trees/gaurdrails/etc.

It's disappointing to see a good Teg/Vic totaled.

timing belt and water pump huh....2 things i've never done on a car. guess i should learn. and i also think the axles are going on front. theres like this creeking noise whenever i go up or down quickly, like when i pull into my driveway...not good.

More likely its suspension, probably some bushings wearing out or needing some lube.

^ 100k really is no big deal. Both my g2 Teg and CRX were reaching 150k when I first got them. The only problem came from my g2. It was leaking coolant because of an old radiator. My 94 Integra now, before I did my motor swapped, had about 114k and the only major problem was the thermostat. Besides all the maintance, give your car a break sometimes and warm it up.

Keep up with your regular scheduled maintenance and change your oil regularly

That is pretty much everything you have to do to these cars. Axles will go out, but that is with any car. The distrubitor will go out also, that tends to happen around 60,000-100,000mi But thoses are easy to change and are not too expensive.
