hey guys I came across a deal on KYB GR2 shocks, I read the "basic guide to accords" and it says it is a good OEM replacement, does this mean that these shocks have pretty much the same settings as the stock ones? I want to put on sprint extreme springs, and I know i need aftermarket shocks, so im wondering if these would get the job done? thanks!

because you have to understand, the damper/shock only control the spring rebounce cycle or damper, putting an aggressive lowering spring on a old shock will not last you more than a month.
GR2 is not better than stock, it is stock replacement

GR2's are better than stock and KYB themselves recommend this strut/shock for cars to replace OEM and also for cars more performance oriented with a suspension lowered to 1.5 inches. When i inquired i was told that they are for people that dont want as harsh of a ride as the AGX's which I replaced these with. As long as your springs arent lower than 1.5 you are in the clear, any lower and they dont guarantee them to last very long.
i just looked at the email and the paperwork i was given with the set i bought.
"The warranty is void if the product is used on excessively lowered (over 1.5") vehicles or in an aftermarket coilover suspension system. "

The GR2's will suffice as long as its 1.5 or higher. If not, dont bother, go with some Koni yellows, Tokico Blue's (i think) or some AGX's. Or, if you do plan on spending that kind of money, take into consideration some of the full coilover systems available.

I dont have a lot of money to spend, i came across a good deal on these, used for $90 local pick up, no leaks nothing, just wondering if I should even bother tho? I have not got a straight answer, are they better then stock, performance wise, im also gonna throw on sprint springs with the 2.25/2.5 drop.

if you're going w/ these springs, then NO--get AGX's instead w/ the spring set or you'll see the GR-2's leak oil in a month or so after the install/alignment job.
(NICO-board educated on this type of shock/strut brand)
