Sooo i dyno'd my stock 02'.....

interesting numbers. the torque looks a little low. the hp isn't bad at all. some are just shy of 200 at the wheels.
the A/C will cut out at WOT (wide open throttle) so it shouldn't have made a bit of difference.
aftermarket mods? or larger (maybe heavier) wheels?

thought it was 240hp??

240 x .85 (~15% driveline loss) = 204 rwhp..... so you are pretty much right on.
I think my 2000 had 203rwhp on a dynojet with some lighter volk wheels but otherwise stock.
VAFC will probably get you a few more hp (probably best bang for the buck on the S2000 for horsepower..... most exhausts give you nothing other than lighter weight.

cool beans, i was hoping a/c made a difference.
it's bone stock with 30k miles. I hope to dyno with a k&n FIPK and the Buddy Club Condenser too see if they really make a difference.

Keep us updated. I would like to see how the K&N FIPK affects the dyno. Do you have the dyno to post?

i'll keep you guys updated, yeah i have the dyno sheet, i don't know if you want to see it, i got some bunk runs, like 200 whp and 200 tq ? i'll go re-dyno somewhere else and keep doing it there to be consistant.

Numbers are about right. I've seen as high as 215 RWHP on some street S2000's. I run a race only S2000 and put the power through a 7.5 in. Chevy rear end (A rear end optimized for good gas mileage, i.e., low resistance) with a 2.28 ratio, with 90 PSI in the special high speed (400+mph) tires and get 238 RWHP and 150 ft.lbs. of torque using 3rd gear. The only change I've really made is to use an Electromotive TEC III to run everything.
And, of course, we are only interested in WOT and so make no allowances for easy starting, cruise mileage, or A/C usage. But it does seem the stock ECU is a bit conservative in its programing.
I believe that with the low 4.11 rear ends and the overdrive transmissions, there might be some ponies to be had with sytheltic gear oil. For the record I run 0-30 in my motor and 75w (only because I can't find any lighter) in my tranny and rear end.
All the best,
Jim Knapp
