Default dyno

okay so i have a 4th gen Si... 2.3... auto tranny... Im thinking about throwing it on the dyno just for kix... to get my whp... so once i get that figure... is there any good way to estimate how much hp at the crank? Based on what I got at the wheels?

Yeah it's 160

I don't get what you're trying to do with this. If you're dynoing stock you can calculate a drivetrain loss...and from then on you can use it as a loss factor and do cross multiplication everytime you dyno again...but why?

If the people you talk to don't understand what ho at the wheels is the have their heads in their asses

well... okay did honda put out the hp figure from the crank or from the wheels when they sold the car? lol. Im betting when honda says our car makes 165 HP... its *not* at the wheels. I wanna see if Im getting an improvement over that... or if its lost power cause of mileage... or what? u know?

Hondas numbers are at the crank, and it's 160. Those numbers should never be used to track improvements since every car's drivetrain loss will be different. You need to dyno the car stock and go from there...that's the only way you'll really know...
