Default new pistons/boring and honing

considering new aftermarket pistons same bore as stock, is it always necessary to re-bore the cylinders or just give those walls a good honing?

honing
if the wall is damaged, boring.

i had broken ring lands in cylinder #4, so the wall is a bit scratched. not deep enough to catch a fingernail, though....

i broke rings and damaged pistons in cyl. 1 and 2, used stock bore pistons and a slight hone, the walls were slightly scratched.

well...i bought the wrx when my teg got wounded... i wanted an all around daily driver with decent power, good bad weather traction, good handling and the ability to haul crap. i love the car. it handles great. the brakes are so/so...and it's got nice torque but lacks a bit of top end. they run low 14's in stock trim...reason being traction. when you launch that thing (which i only did once, it being fairly new) it just snaps your neck and pulls. the problem with the teg was traction...otherwise, i think, especially from a rolling start, the integra was and will be a faster car.

but i do miss my integra, and i am really looking foward to it being on the road again with a standalone, bigger injecotrs, and beefier pistons and rods. i've had the car for a while and things aren't the same without it.

what can i say? they are different cars, and i love both of them. but i highly reccommend the wrx - as an all-around car...it kicks ***. and if you want to do a few mods...intake, exhaust, and boost controller will get you fairly easily into the mid 13's...cobb has a kit for about 4800 that will get you into the high 12's....
zoom zoom.
let me know if you have any other questions!
happy driving

greg
