Hey,

There is a turbo rebuild shop in New Jersey called Scroll Products. They do all sorts of rebuilds for cars, trucks, commercial but they are known for passenger car performance turbochargers.

I had them rebuild my Garrett TB03 and they did a compressor upgrade during the build. The owner of the shop was very knowledgeable about turbos and I felt very comfortable leaving my turbo there.

Watch out for them. I called them to rebuild my turbo and they started right away to try to scare me and prepare me for high repair cost. I had to listen for few minutes how bad my turbo could be and couldn't get any answers or approx. price to fix it. They wanted to ship it and open it up to price the repair. You know what that means. When you don't agree to repair with them you are already down few hundred $ for shipping both ways and cost of taking it apart. Other shops including G-Pop Shop or Blouch were very professional and everything was based on facts. They have a listed price to fix it (even when there is a problem) and they don't BS you.

buy a rebuild kit from gpopshop, the one for my t3/t04e was like 90 shipped. there is nothing to it. Just take your time, and make sure you have a pick or two handy for the retaining rings, and some assembly lube.

call Tommy at RPMNYC (it might be called RPM Power Technica or something now) or call Ralphie at DRT in Queens. either of these guys will have reliable information for you.
