ok heres the deal.95 prelude si auto 2.3l.the car made a ticking noise sounded like it was coming from the egr valve a week later it started surging hard core up to like 3000 rpms and down to normal from the time you start the car.it also has this weird coolant smell compression test says everything is fine.any help would be great.

ps the car has really high milage like 225,000

 

Do a valve adjustment...it sounds like it needs it.
