First of all, your typical B-series mount kit will not accommodate an automatic transmission. Secondly, the B-series automatic transmission is HUGE. So as a best case scenario, you will have to do TONS of custom fabrication to do an automatic B-series swap. On the other hand, there just might not be enough room. The very end of a YS1 manual transmission case just fits under the passenger side frame rail. An automatic is MUCH bigger and might not fit there. Seriously, if you are hellbent on doing an automatic, you might be stuck with D-series.

I looked into swapping a b series auto into my wifes car, she loves auto, but the b series mount kit will not work with auto trannies. SO now your stuck with a zc dohc or sohc or the jdm d15b.
BTW the b series auto trans is the same size or damn close to the manual trans. There is no real diffrence in size and there is no diffrence in da engine bays either.

Not true. The manual transmission tapers down quite a bit long its length. But the automatic transmission remains pretty much the same size as the bell housing along the entire length of the transmission. While the manual transmission is more conical, the automatic transmission is more cylindrical.
As far the DA engne bay, it is indeed the same size for the automatic models as for the manual models. But regardless, it is bigger than an ED/EF engine bay.

97civicsedan,
without knowing your power goals, its difficult to suggest anything.
If you want to stay automatic, you really shouldn't bother going b series, as it will not perform at all, and will not be worth the time or the money; not to mention the problems with the mount kits which have already been addressed above.
I say get a dual cam jdm zc motor and throw it in there with your stock trans. Motor is $500. Low mileage 130hp motor for $500 is decent.
If you want a racecar, you have to swith to manual, plain and simple.
You will have to decide if you want to keep the car in a somewhat stock form or if you want to go 'all out.'

Another possibility would be SOHC VTEC. This will mate up with a stock automatic as well. And you can run it with a stock automatic P28 ECU.
