Custom manifold with warped flange

Default Custom manifold with warped flange

i just got a ross cates manifold and the header flange is .5 thick and it is warped a 1/4 inch and that would only leave me with a 1/4 inch left will that be ok or can i cut slots in between the runners and than resurface it

i woudlnt cut slots ive always had kind of bad luck doing it/ plates shifting etcc.

just get it resuurfaced and you should be good

Send it back and have them fix it for free plus have them pay shipping. A company's fuckup shouldn't be your problem.

Yes don't cut it if your going to get it resurfaced. Cut it after if you want.

Wouldn't cutting the flange to half it's thickness also make it more prone to warping?

I would also stray from fixing it myself as it might void any warrentee they might have on the work.

there is no warranty with this guy look for histopic if i send it back i might never get it back

You really need to cut it then resurface. If you cut the headflange the runners will most likely shift judging by how warped it is. The uneven runners can be planed flat and then the manifold will be 'relaxed' once you bolt it down rather than having to be pulled into shape by the manifold studs. Planing it then cutting could really screw you in the end. If you want to send it to me I will make it work for you.
