Could you help...?
I just bought a S2k and was wondering if you Honda guys could help me out.
When i drive and let go for the throttle to slow down, there's massive vibrating on the clutch. I had the car on the hoist and thought it was a loose heatshield, but everything seems to be tight and not loose. Could the vibrating be coming from inside the exhaust? thats what my mechanic told me...but im not exactly sure.
another question.
when i engage into first gear, i hear a small thump sound...im sure its coming from the tranny, cause i could feel it. Most times when i engage into first gear, i make sure i come to a complete stop and engage into first slowly and i dont hear anything....could it be a tranny problem? cause i hear stories about s2k having tranny problems.
Any information would really help me. Thanks!

Its a TSB for 00-01 S2000's. Clutch rattle. The springs on the disk are weak or something. If you still have warrenty, check s2ki out and find the tsb number.
The thump going in gear is normal.

It's TSB 054 for the "clutch buzz". This noise will not harm anything and is not damaging in any way (other than being annoying). They redesigned the clutch in 02 to fix this problem. If the car is under the original warranty (which it probably won't be as an 01), it MAY be fixed by Honda. But it probably won't, because Honda considers the clutch a wear item (I've already gone round and round with them about this). But it's worth a shot. Good luck.
Thanks for the information.
So my best bet is to replace the clutch when its needed to get rid of the "clutch buzz"..? So this problem only occurs on 00-01 oem clutch right? My S2K is a 00' and I only have 30day warrenty, so i probably wont bother if its consider a "wear" item...it is annoying, but i guess i can live with the buzz until i replace the clutch with an aftermarket one.
Thanks once again! much appreciated

Its a honda recall...no promises but they MIGHT cover it at a honda dealership as if you still had a warranty, my friend purchased a 2001 with the same problem, no warranty (bought it privately) and he brought it by the local dealer and they fixed the problem, he knows people there though, but you might give it a try...worst case is they say no.
