i just dropped on in my 91 crx dx this past weekend, it is really easy...you need to use your tranny, clutch, and flywheel...and you need a si distributor, and pm6 ecu...the whole thing cost me around $600, but i got deals on a lot of the stuff, and it's well worth it, i'm very happy with it...a buddy of mine has a 93 si hb w/a b16a, and i took him

I got a 98 civic ex d16y8 for 900 with tranny, wiring harness, ecu, and all the engine side stuff...

You will need to use your tranny, I bought a new clutch/pp for a 91 crx si, and I actually used the flywheel from the y8 as it is identical to the a6 flywheel.

I used the y8 intake manifold/ tb and exhaust manifold as they flow better than the a6, and I used the y8 dist.

I bought a obd0-obd1 harness from blown90hatch on this board, and I bought a p28 ecu.

The motor WILL run better if you use the correct intake/exhaust manifolds designed for it and if you use the correct ecu. Davens used the a6 exhaust/intake manifolds and a6 dist and a vtec switch. He gained like 3 hp and some torque over the stock crx si motor. He has dyno sheets to prove it.

If you want to do it right, get the complete motor, get the harness to plug in the p28 to your existing wiring harness in the floor boards of your car.

On blown90hatch's harness there are 8 wires clearly labeled that you must run additional wires to, to make the engine run properly.
The first ones must be run from the engine to the passenger floorboard where the ecu is located.
1-4. 4 wires from the 4 wire o2 sensor to the ecu
5. vtec oil pressure to ecu
6. vtec soleniod to ecu
7. knock sensor to ecu

The 8th is to wire a toggle switch. The 8th wire goes to pin one on the toggle switch, the other pin on the toggle switch is wired to ground. This makes your check engine light on your dash flash error codes when the switch is turned on.

8. toggle switch for cel codes

You will have to repin/resolder the injector clips.
You will have to solder the 5 wires from the a6 injector resister together and remove the injector resistor.

Lengthen the wires for the eacv/map sensor.
Lengthen the wires for the coolant temp switch which is on the passenger side of the motor where the thermostat is.

It sounds like alot of work, but it's really not.

Any questions.... ask.
Steven

I just did a Z6 head swap and used Blown Hatch's harness. Very simple to wire and I am using my old injectors with the resistor box. Motor is pulling strong. I noticed a considerable difference running the motor with the p28 v the si ecu and manually engaging vtech. Without running the p28 I don't think it would be even worth the swap.
