I´m about to swap a B18C into my 89 CRX and I´m looking for a header for it. Which headers that have a 2.5" inch collector fits with a stock crossmember without the need for hacking it up ?

4-2-1 or 4-1 ? Does it have a 2.5" collector ? I didn´t think there were any DC headers with 2.5" collector.

 

Anyone else have something to add ?

 

Anyone have a Toda header in their EF ? It´s a 4-2-1 design and doesn´t look too big , but it´s kinda hard to tell from pictures if it would fit.

 

The Toda header will clear You should go with an SMSP instead But man is everyone swapping B18C's in their EF now?

You absolutely sure on this ? It´s a pretty expensive header , so it would kinda suck if it didn´t fit
Have you seen a Toda header in a EF chassis yourself or seen some pictures of it ?

If we got my friends 4-1 header to clear the toda should clear to. Its a 4-2-1 design it doesnt stick out as bad as the 4-1 headers do. But you should get the SMSP header instead. They have a $600 they do sell Just pm SMSP

 

I looked at the $600 header at SMSP´s homepage , but it does look like it sticks out quite a bit even though it´s a 4-2-1 design. Did you actually fit a 4-1 header into an EF without notching the stock crossmember ? What header was it ?

 

I contacted SMSP regarding the $600 4-2-1 header and I got some pictures of the fitment on a B20.
As seen in this picture the header is pretty close to the engine , so it seems it could work with a stock crossmember. Can anyone with experience swapping headers comment on if it looks like it would fit ? Anyone have any similar pictures of headers on an EF ?
Please help , I need a new header

Edit : Been looking at the Vibrant 4-2-1 but according to this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1157682 it seems that you will have to cut the crossmember quite a lot. Don´t think an EF has any more room than a DA.

the toda header is a "jdm 4-2-1" jdm 4-2-1s usually have problems clearing stock xmembers..even some aftermarket like jimfab wont clear. i have a toda header, i got a Full Race traction bar to clear it....im almost positive it woulda never cleared with the stocker.

Do you have any pictures of it installed in the car ?
