Default Putting the tranny onto the motor. Couple Questions.

Okay I'm not doing this right now, i've already done it before myself and I had a hard time. I had no cherry picker or anything and had to assemble everything on the floor and i thought that was somewhat of a hassle especially for a weak-*** like me. I nearly killed myself a few times during my first swap not knowing what i was doing at all lol.

Anyway i succeeded that's the good part. My question is this.

Lets just say you have a cherry picker. When you guys remove the motor from the car and seperate tranny from the block. What process do you guys go through in order to put it back together? Do you guys just assemble everything on the ground and then hoist it into the bay? Or do you put the longblock in the car and then after thats mounted, do you put the tranny in?

I'm just trying to get a general idea of what other people are doing. The thing is, you know that thin metal cover near the tranny? I didn't want to bend that so i had to maneuver(sp) all weird... anyway.

thx.

If the motor is out of the car, then it's easier to put the tranny onto the block and install them both at the same time.
