Default Integra Type-R vs. Jetta VR6 (Track Racing Video)

Something for everyone to enjoy. I found it with a http://www.google.com search.

Ok, here is the site I got the movies from...
http://www.tracracing.com/movies/en/movies.html

Here is the movie...
http://www.tracracing.com/movies/RASWC00banzai.wmv

Road Atlanta Speedvision World Challenge '00, In-
Car action, Last lap and Steph (Jetta VR6) is tired
of being slowed down by an Type R (the '99
Touring Champion car, now driven by Mark Reed)
trying a VERY banzai move in corner 2-3

Now you guys be the judge. Who is the better driver? Seems to me that the Type-R was pulling away in some spots...and he had much better control of his car, don't you think?

The Type R is also slowing down the Jetta though.

It's never as cut and dry as "It was all his fault" when it comes to racing.

I don't think he was trying to cheat, he hit the curb and instead of yanking the wheel and spinning out he just went straight.

Man,
That guy needs to find some grass compound rubber.
Nevermind passing the R, he needs to focus on keeping it on the freakin' track!

The Type R driver is slow in the turns, but has a more powerful car in the straights.

I like the technique...
As they say, "The shortest distance between two points, is a straight line."

That dude driving the type-r braked too much... his corner speed was crap. If i was driving the jetta i would be pissed off too.

No doubt. The R had power but the Jetta was braking way deep...big time on that first turn!

Funny video! Intresting, it looked like the R was even pulling the VR6 on the uphill part. The R driver was slower in the corners, though. However, I dont think the VW driver was pulling a "banzai passing move", I see people overrunning that corner all the time at Road Atlanta.

There are some really slow ITRs in SVWC as well...lots of teams campaign them back in the days. I am not sure if it's the car prep part or the driver part that resulted it.

Damn that was my secret move at gt3... That is one funny vid.. I thought the jetta got the lead but what do u know the R just cuts back in front haha. Seems like the R slowed down too much for a few turns ..especially the 1st one..
