Any one have recommendations on how to separate the driver side axle from the midshaft?

I've taken everything apart and all I'm left with is to separate the axle from the midshaft.

i assume you mean the intermediate shaft from the driver side axle?

chizzle (sp?) and a hammer. or just a hammer if its little enough.

 

yup..that's what I mean...I've been trying to pry it apart with a pry bar and so far haven't had any luck. Is it normally such a pain to do this?

i tried prying mine apart yesterday when i was taking my engine out... i eventually asked one of the mechanics if there was a secret to it and he said "chizzle and a hammer". he came over, tapped it like 3 times and it popped right out

 

I finally decided to use a hammer along with the pry bar and got it out after a few good hits....Thanks
