Swap issues D15Z1 to D16Z6 any help would be great. DFW or not. -yes i searched.
Long story short, I took out my D15Z1 this weekend out of my 92 Civic VX. I went for a pretty easy swap, the D16Z6 Motor, tranny and P28 Ecu. THe swap went great but i've run into an issue.
Problem:
The warning lights on my cluster no longer work. You know when you turn the car on, it runs a test and all your lights come on Oil pressure, CEL Etc...)
Everything on the car was functional prior to the swap. I used the stock VX harness for the swap. I need to see if there are any cels before i proceed.
Any help is appreciated.
Also, i would like to solicit some help from anyone in the DFW area who can help me get my car running. Thanks.

I'm not quite certain what to tell you to do cause I've always gone from one swap to the same one. But I would suggest trying your VX ecu or finding a friend that uses a p28 to verify that your p28 is actually working.
Besides, wouldn't you actually need to start the car up initially to find any cels. Does the car actually start up?
If you're worried about backwards wiring, I believe the only ones you could have really mixed up a little are the ones behind the intake manifold. Which wouldn't cause you a problem getting the car started, it would just idle funny.

Hey I did a z6 longblock swap into my '92 VX a year ago and I didn't have any of those problems only had to rewire the o2 sensor and I stop throwing codes. I used my VX wire harness, p28 ECU and VX tranny. Didn't have any of the problems you are having so I don't know what to tell you. My guess would be to check all the fuses in the car (ie. engine bay, under the dash) and see where that gets you. I know I blew my ECU fuse somehow when I did my B16 swap so I was gettin fuel and such. But yeah good luck with that, start with fuses and work from there
Yeah, that definitely sounds like a faulty ecu. Everything should run fine since you didn't mess with any wiring. Everything is plug and play for you.
You didn't mess with any wiring?

He would messed with the wiring because you have to convert the o2 sensor but thats all the wiring changes you have to do

Everything is fine now.. thanks everyone for the replies.
The wiring for the O2 sensor was fine, the reason i was not getting any dash lights and not being able to start the car was because the motor was not grounded properly.
It was funny all that running around testing everything over and over came down to a faulty ground.
Car is running, just need to do a valve lashing.

I was going to recommend the tranny ground when I read this the first time. I was just too lazy to respond.
BTW... search in classifieds. There is someone willing to pay top dollar for the vx 5 wire o2 sensor.
