Default removing stickers\decals from body

The previous owner had alot of decals\stickers on the car, now I need to remove them. Whats the best way of doing this without jacking up the paint?

I know amonnia is used to remove them from windows, but will amonnia **** up the paint or should I use it?

Thanks.

Well, when doing slave work and scrubbing the shelves clean of nasty goo left behind by the item UPC stickers, Goo Gone worked REALLY well, and didnt mess up any surfaces.

It helps if you let it sit for 3-5mins, but for me it worked almost instantly. Could be different EURO SPEC Goo Gone though

Yeah I've had good luck using a heat gun and if there's any residue left over then Goo Gone works well!

Since there is the risk of removing paint with the decal, you must be very careful. You will need to use a hot hair dryer or a heat gun to soften up the adhesive while you *slowly* peel the decal off. Then use an adhesive remover product to remove the sticky residue.

Keep in mind that the paint under the decal has been protected from the elements and may appear less faded than the paint around the decal. Depending on how long the decals were on the car, and the colour of your paint, you may still be able to see a silhouette of where the decal used to be.

Use a heat gun or Hair dryer. I like to buy some Car Brite All Sol. Takes the sticky stuff off.
