Hello, i am wondering what size tires to buy for my 98 civic ek hatch........i just got 16 x 7.5 rims (don't know the offset though.....how do you measure offset?)....anyways, i was on tirerack.com and looking at some tires but can't decide what would be best for traction for my daily driver.....195/50/16? 205/50/16?......any advice would be greatly appreciated...thanks

 

7.5" wide rims? You might want to run a 215 profile.

 

215...really? Isn't that going to rub?

 

215 would be hard to find / really expensive in a low profile.

205 / 50 / 16 is common and would look nice.

205mm = 8.1 inches

 

Thats the size that i was leaning towards in the first place.....i used to run 205/40/17's on my 17's last summer and it worked nicely.......except i mangled a rim on a nice ohio pothole due to my tire being so low of a profile.......thanks for your input.....also, do you know how to measure offset?
