Default snapped axle.........

im running a mildly modified 99 prelude with a h22a4 (full exhaust, aem intake, pulleys) in a race last night i tried to launch at about 4k rpm and stripped the axle at the wheel and ripped the boot apart. i've launched at that and higher rpm and my car has performed beautifully. any idea's on how this happend and ways to prevent it from happening again. also any aftermarket/upgrade ideas would be appreciated.

You ever have wheel hop when you do that? I hear that's supposed to be really hard on axles.

I'm not sure whats causing that, but if there is a mount holding/guiding the axle, you may want to check if the bolts are loose. I had that happen once on a older Celica and the mount ripped off the iron block and had to re-tap it. Don't let that happen to you.

were u street racing? why would u launch that high anyways..but whatevers. to each his own.

it was probably an old axle. boots get worn and they tear. learn to not launch at 4000 rpm's. i launch at 3000 and i get a lot of wheel hop :\ well, i dont exactily have a drag suspension.
