1.5l motor probs
Alright my friend has a hatch with the 1.5l single cam motor. Well him being the moron that he is knowing he has a radiator leak. He decides he want to go somewhere about 15 mins away for some odd reason on this leaky radiator. Well the leak is so bad it just shoots out of the bottom. He thinks he can make it. Well like 5 mins a later it over heats on him and he keeps going driving on an overheating motor there and back and drove on it overheating for like 20 mins! He comes back to my house and is like hey man my motor is smoking. I'm like "wtf now". I go out there and the motor is insanely hot smoking like crazy. Well he things he's going to buy some of this like glue crap and fix the radiator. You can't tell him a thing really. And he thinks he gets it fixed. Starts it up and lets it idle for a little bit and it seems like it keeps wanting to die. And it's soooo rough. No leaks but he is about to take off and my friend sees it spray out of the bottom again. I guess the glue didn't hold. Does anyone think this motor may be done for? Or if he got a new radiator would it be alright?
Well, at the very least, he needs a new radiator... Have him start with that, then see how the car's acting once it's not blowing all its coolant out through the busted rad. He might have warped the head, in which case the headgasket should be leaking (either into the cylinders or out the space between block and head, or both). Should be pretty easy to tell once the radiator leak is taken care of. Right now, he's letting a bunch of air into the cooling system, which plays hell with how the car runs.
My question is: Are you sure you really want to help someone who has such little appreciation for his car, or for your efforts? I've got a neighbor like that - they constantly want me to tell them what's wrong with their Civic, and then they'll completely ignore my advice. And when the car dies, guess who they want to work on it? Free of charge, of course...
I have absolutely no problem helping people out who value their cars and take care of them, but I feel it's a waste of time to help someone who's just going to turn right around and f*ck something ELSE up, figuring that there'll always be someone to help them fix it.

he probably fucked that motor up... i.e. he could of blown the head gasket or like what B16_madman said he could of totally just fucked his head up... you never know unless you open it up and what not.... its like what if oil is shooting out of my block and i drive it anyways.. i wonder what will happen???????????????????
The problem is he's been a friend since 6th grade and that's been a good 8 years. So I feel bad if I don't help him.. but I dunno.
