Tein owners: Remote stiffness controller thingee
I just saw this at http://www.tein.com/edfc.html
"EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller) makes it possible for the driver to control the damping force by controlling a motor installed in the shock absorber while being seated in the driver's seat. Since the damping force can be manually controlled with ease to meet different situations, the driver can enjoy variations in the suspension setting. "
There was discussion about it on the board earlier. Pretty nifty I think, don't know if i could justify $380 though...

Almost impossible to justify, but very nice.
This sort of stuff has been available for years for shocks used for offroading. A lot cheaper and more low tech though.

kinda funny how I see this post now, b/c I just got back from reading about in Option2 and Rev Speed, etc.
Basically my understanding is that those square boxes go ontop of the shocks. As one turns up or down the dampening, the gears inside the boxes turn the ****. It's no different than doing this manually, but I guess the benefit is that you can change settings on the fly.
Tein is also working on a similar device for adjusting the height. It can go +/- ~3" from stock height. Kinda neat, but it kinda looked like a lowrider thing

shi - who wouldn't get it b/c he's from the school of KISS

from what i was seeing, i think they only made this system available to their newest damper systems, like the Type Flex.....can you tell from the ads are they adaptable for all systems?leo - who likes the idea of changing stiffness on the fly, but will have to wait for zeal to come out with that
Leo:
i didn't read t00 much into the article. I'll go the website and see what they say....
found this:
4. Installed in a wide range of vehicles
In the future, we will develop shock absorbers which will be equipped with the EDFC. There are some vehicle types, however, for which the EDFC cannot be installed due to problems such as narrow clearance. As for shock absorbers already purchased by customers previously, we will confirm the installation.>

That's the poo poo!
Hoping they will come with a full adjustable electronic kit soon. Or confirm, what existing kits this works for.
