Default Wet plugs?

Could a bad headgasket contribute to 4/4 plugs having a slight wetness to them?

I pulled all of my plugs and they weren't exactly drenched but they were black and moist looking. One thing I do know is that i might have a bad headgasket, because i was getting a lot of water out of the exhaust... So I'm hoping it's not some fucked up rings, but can the headgasket prob contribute to the wet plugs?

it's the bottom portion of the threads that are moist. I can't tell if its oil or coolant. It's just black and then the black looks moist. But just by looking at it i wouldn't be able to say that it's oil. I also smelled the plugs and didn't smell gas or anything like that.

okay i was just reading another thread and i found a guy that said if they are wet and charred then you're running too rich.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=980014

Do you think my plugs didn't smell like fuel because i hadn't tried to start my car recently and also because when i pulled the plugs i let them sit for liek 10 minutes before smelling them.

Hmm.. well i hope it's just that.

Is there any white smoke coming out of your exhaust?
I do not beleive a bad head gasket would cause your spark plugs to be wet. You would notice a significant amount of smoke coming out of your exhaust first.

The water coming out of your exhaust is just condensation. Very normal.

I had some problems with oil leaking onto the sparks plugs because of a bad seal with the rubber rings on the valve cover.

If the plugs are wet looking and do not smell like gas, then it isn't gas.

hmm.. i see.

but if it were one of those seals on the valve cover wouldn't the wetness be from the top down rather than the bottom of the plug?

my plugs actually look like this

you see how it's black but also has a moist look to it? This site is saying it's running to rich or the spark plugs are set to a heat range that is too cold? What the hell does that mean???

Hmm. yeah, I'm actually leaning more towards the running too rich side because I hadn't adjusted ignition timing until i got a timing light, which was a few days ago. When I did adjust it, it was way off. And I also find it weird that all 4 of the plugs are moist. If it were a blown head gasket i would think it would be kind of rare that all 4 plugs happen to share the same symptoms? I duno though.

Well I also do know that i have a blown head gasket and some bent to **** valves anyway and to top it off possibly some fucked rings. I'm thinking about a first time attempt at semi-rebuilding the motor.... can't be too hard right??

I'm such a dumbass. My friend let me borrow his compression tester but it's like i'm too scared to use it because i dont want to know the truth lol. That and i'm waiting on this guy to give me a starter.

Hey,
I have the same slight wetness only on the thread not the Diode, but i did a compression test and that **** was 205 across the board, without cracking the throttle, when i cracked the throttle open they were all like 235 across the board. This is on a JDM b16 i think the valve cover seal is the culprit. And by the way you are most definately runing rich. hey its better than running lean. Comp test it you will either be reall happy or real depressed with the outcome but either way its better than wondering whats goin on.

try adjusting the valve lash as well. It could help with the running rich problem
