Tire Size question:
I have a quick question about tire sizing:
Currently I'm running have 17*7 wheels on my prelude w/ a +45mm offset using 215*45 Bridgestone so2 pp's. But, I would like to try out a set of Falken Azenis, however they only come in a 225*45 for 17 inch wheels. So, what, if any, effects would this plus sizing cause, any problems, etc. I know that my accelertion may suffer some, but I'm nota a drag racer, so that honestly doesn't completly concern me. Also, I have height adjustable coilovers. Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks in advance.

Try this: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
Currently, your wheel/tire diameter is 24.6". If you go 225/45/17, you will bump the diameter up to 25.0" - this will cause the speedometer to read another 1.4% lower than it should. So not much change there... The width I don't know about. I'd guess you should be OK since you have a +45mm offsett. I'd be interested to know if it fits for sure... So let us know if you try it.

Dude, why do you have to have a 45 profile? Run 40 profile on 17" wheels to get more aggressive gearing... you'll thank me later.. You'll accelerate faster because your wheel/tire diameter is smaller than stock diameter, giving you tighter gearing.. only drawback is that you can't hold gears long enough which (if you can't shift fast) might lose time on the track.. if you're a shifting maniac, then this will help you!
Edit: Missed the part about you not caring about acceleration, but I don't see the need for 45 series tires on 17s.. I believe the Falken Azenus' have 215/40/17s that will work for ya.. Unless you are trying to fill in every bit of wheel gap with the 45s.. Then you're stuck using 225s.. might look a bit funny on your 17x7 wheels, but you'll get a little better traction. That's a bit wide for my personal preference.
