Time for timing belt?
So I'm lookin for some opinions on this matter. I am gauging the motor's mileage on the fact that the alternator went bad on me. I'm running a first gen b16. I was told that Honda alternators usually last over 100k.
So since the motor might have over 100k on it, that means that my timing belt/water pump is past due.
So you ask, why didn't you do this when you did the swap? Well I didn't do the swap. The guy who did do it cannot remember for certain and the shop that it was done at, its records are either too shady or just not there for me to know for sure. Sheesh it stinks.
I'm just about to spend a lil bit of $$ on suspension and I'd hate to kill the motor by makin this decision, so what do you think? Is there any way to tell it's a replacement belt?

Sometimes timing belt can show wear by crackings on them before they snap sometimes they just snap even though they still look good. Investing in a timing belt, esp. on a old motor would be a good idea.
