might buy a built head...need opinions
just saw a friend of mine that i have seen in probably 5 years. Turns out we both got into hondas.....anyway i guess that has nothing to do with my question.
So here's the head.
OBDII P72
ported and polished
type-r cams
AEM cam gears
STR cam caps
Crower valvetrain
it's missing the head bolts and 2 of the exhaust manifold bolts are broken off and still in the head. Other than that it looks really clean.
i think that's about it. Anyways, he wants $800 for it. i have the money now but i did want to get my car painted... If its a really good deal then i'll do it, but if i could easily get a similar setup in the future, then i'll just wait.
btw....my bottom end is stock....10.6:1......might have the head milled
also...1 more Q:....how much could i resell my stock complete GSR head for?

bump...might buy this tomorrow....are ITR cams enough for a ported head w/ blox IM....also going to be at about 11:1 if i mill the head.

i just bought a zex kit for real cheap....would i be able to safely spray a 65 shot on it making (hopefully) 195ish hp on the stock bottom end?
that'd be probably 240whp....
another question i have....maybe should ask this in the FI forum....
how would i safely tune it for good all motor power and safely spray it....seems like colder plugs and retarded timing would hurt me when i'm not spraying.
maybe use an VAFC and just increase the fuel 15% every time i spray....would that be good enough?

ITR Cams will be enough, but you could probably get a little bit more out of your setup with slightly more agressive cams.
I dont think it's a good idea to tune for allmotor and spray on that same tune. You need retarted timing to spray it and be safe, and with that compression you're gonna be asking for trouble with a 65 shot without the proper tune.
