yesterday i was doing my daily routine cruising at 45mph and a cop pulls me over(btw i have an N1 exhaust) there was another car in front of me with a loud *** **** can louder than mine.. and the cop tells me my exhuast is illegal and he wrote me a ticket.. i wanna ask u guys is it really illegal to have an exhaust now? ive had cops pull me over saying i have "modified my exhaust manifold" but they all have let me go, except for yesterday is this insane? or is there a new law?

 

you can thank the fast and the ferious for this one at least thats what i think thats why cops are asses to import drivers. i got pulled for modified exhaust and i have a greddy evo 2 muffler wich most of you know isnt loud at all. he said if i cant hear my radio its good enough reason to pull you over. bs i was driving normal too but he let me go.

 

it depends where you live, if you live in california the law says that the exhaust cant be over 95 db, so your most likely fine. But if you live almost anywhere else, it is up to the officer on site to decide if the exhaust is legal. I just got the same ticket about two weeks ago, fought it in court and won.

 

i noticed he gave me a fix it ticket ... and my n1 is loud but only if i floor it i was normal driving ... it pisses me off.. so what now im forced to take off my exhuast and put a stock one on now? or should i got to court and fight it.. when u fought it jdmdelsolb16

i just told them that i have been driving the car like this for years, and nobody until this cop has said anything about it. However, i also had a judge who didnt immediately give me s*** about my car looking "fast and furious" so i got lucky. Also dont take off your stock exhaust because cops have always been dicks about cars that are lowered and have non-stock exhausts, if you give in, then this is just going to keep going on.

 

get a turbo, that'll kill the exhaust noise =P

 

just get a good lawyer to go to court for you..
that'll tell the pigs you ain't f@#$ing around...

find out what the laws are in nevada regardinng exhaust noise and mods. here in california if you get a ticket you have to either change it or go to get it signed off at the state referee which has to be less than 96.5 decibels. if you have a decibel test to legalize it, then you can just put on the silencer and get it signed off before court to plead not guilty!
