Tail light paint? How can i paint my clear outs, red. What kind of paint?
I have a pair of all clear tail lights for my civic and I hate them.
I want to paint the top part red to make them look like Si Tail lights.
What kind of spray paint do I need and whats the best way to do it?

You should just buy some OEM or replica si tailights. If you spray paint them, it will look like ****.
ive seen it done and they looked OEM and they looked bad ***, he used some kind of clear coat red spray paint. It was awesome.
looked just like he bought them like that.
I cant afford new tail's right now

Even though it's not the greatest thing, you could go on ebay and buy a pair of replicas for like $40-$50.
Might try a hobby Lobby store and look for some glass paint or something in the hobby/craft sections ???
You could have a painter shoot it with candy then clearcoat em, candy is transparent and hard. hell I dont know......

Any hobby store like stated should have a candy apple red available. I believe that was the closest red to stock I cannot recall as it has been about 2-3 years. Make sure to grab a clearcoat as well. Probably cost all of $4. If you have to go back and clean I would suggest finding something that will not eat the plastic of the lens.

Do it right and buy new ones. With the paint u r going to run into too much ish, like flaking, fading not to mention wether or not the lights will show through your "bad ***" painted lights. Just do it right...
Yeah buying new ones would be the best idea. But since you're short on cash do what my friend did. mask the reverse go to Hobby Lobby and get some transparent red spray pant(in the model car isle) and add very light coats until you reach desired tone with visability during 12pm cause at night it's a lot easier to see them. Good luck but just save for the real deal and suck it up until then

What color did you use? The transparent red is a stock color for tails. My friend had a 94 Prelude Si and he got the completely clear light and taped the back up and did transparent and it didn't look bad. Not as good as stock but good enough.
