Default Easy swap? (D15B2 to JDM D15B)

This might be a simple question but it is my first time swapping.
I know summer is almost starting and I’m thinking to start my project next month or so.
I currently own an 89 HF with D15B2 (DX engine) and a D15B VTEC sleeping in my garage. What tools and supplies do I need? My friend told me that I need a P28 ECU and a VTEC harness, but is that all? My brother is visiting Japan in 2 weeks, so I could ask him for some parts but could somebody tell me if this is an easy swap?

BTW does my OBD0 ECU work on my D15B?

You should go obd1 with a p28 ecu. So the car is running mpfi, correct? You can try my site (in my sig) if you need any wiring to aid in the swap.

Thanks for the info Ryan.

I found out that the P08 was the JDM D15B ECU so what else do I need? I could still run it in OBD0 without VTEC right?

You can run the d15b vtec ecu, that only looks for 1 o2 sensor, so that might help keep costs down. Or if you want to stay obd0, you will need to wire vtec with a rpm switch (I would never do this, its def the ghetto way).

Thanks again Ryan.

and you could still drive the motor with OBD0 right because I want my CRX to run in OBD0 first until I get some $$$.

So, what do I need to do to run it on OBD0?

To run it obd0 just use a obd0 ecu from a si, obd0 1 wire o2, and obd1 distributor.
