How to tell year of JDM motor
I dont know if its me or what but I did search and nothing so, I just got my jdm b18c swap. A 98 is supposed to 4-1 header. I dont think that is what I got because it doesnt match the oics Ive seen of them. Does anyone have a pic of the 4-2-1 header (JDM). Is there any other ways to tell besides header, such as number on block or serial #.
you can also look at the cylinder head...below the head shield of the stock manifold..there will be a few ovals...one of the ovals has numbers in it like so
( 9 / 8 ) ...that is the way it is on the geeser anyway..

There are 3 circles on block, one of which has 9/8. That makes me feel better. I think they stiched the header to the 4-2-1, probably because they could sell the 4-1. Cool , at least I got the right year motor. Cant sweat the small stuff with these swaps. Thanks again!
Are you sure you have a type r motor? Only type r motor has 4-1 header. But an older type r motor with the 4-2-1 header has a 2.5" collector.
Also 98 ITR motor has faux carbon fiber spark plug cover
, unless whoever sold you the motor swiped it.
