'95 Integra RS engine upgrade options?
My first post and I know I am gonna get flack for it but I searched and read 4 pages worth of posts so I did all I could. Anyways to the quesiton. I bought a 1995 Integra RS in 1997 because it was a good little econo box. Well, I had planned to sell it and get get a 96 Impala or 67 Firebird this year but things fell apart on both cars and with the way gas is going I am reconsidering this change.
The Integra is by far the sweetest looking ride IMO (well if it looks like this one, which is what I am aiming for) and well it get good milage. FWD sucks but I don't have $20K (or how ever much it would cost) to put into turning it into a RWD (One day though I will, just so I can smoke my rear tires on a vette and watch his mouth drop).
Anyways, back to reality. I want to know what kind of options are there for my lowly RS. I wish I would have known better, I would have got a type R but I did'nt so what can I do. There is the frankenstein thing where I get a B16 vtec head and put it on my LS bottom end. Then there is a complete swap for a stock GSR or ITR. Or I could just get a turbo or supercharger for the LS.
What are the in's and outs of each? All I really care about is fun to drive factor. I don't car about 1/4 miles. I don't give a rats a$$ about racing. Just a nice fun to drive car that pulls like a bat outta hell and runs though the RPM range like Peter North does women....oh yeah and that does not cost $10K to do......oh yeah and that does not sit on bricks 2 weeks outta every month.
BTW...WUSSUPP fellas? My name is Jerry. I'm an ol'school knucklehead. I treat others with respect and demand the same. If I get outta line about anything, talk to me, I can take it. I am prejudiced and do discriminate against all a-holes regardless of creed, color, sexual preference or religious background, so if you happen to be an a-hole back the f up. And if we should ever meet, if I am with you, I got your back....I'll smack you in the back of the head for doin stupid sh...but I'll still have your back.

well your engine by itself, even though its just an RS (most people just call them LS's) isnt a bad motor and has alot of potential as it sits for a fun car to drive. With a bolt on turbo kit just like it is you can make close to 300 to the wheels. If you want to go the all motor route, there are plenty of bolt ons (Intake, header, exhaust, cams, etc) that would make it a good bit quicker. Swapping a vtec head on it is a very good idea too, great power gains just from putting a stock head on. There are a lot of options really, and plenty of people on here have been in the same situation you are in, wondering where to take thier ls engine, without swapping a completely new one in (which is still an option, but i prefer the ls bottom end, now that i have actually owned one)
anyways hope this helps a little

Basically you need to search.....a lot, and read.....a lot. Not trying to be a dick, but just about every option you can think of has been covered on these boards.
Really you need to decide what you want the car for. Daily driver? Full race car?? Show car only???

The point of this thread was for me to get a push in the right direction. A list of suggestions that I can then search on. Like the title says I am trying to find out what my options are? Once I have that I can search. As for my intentions....daily driver. Like mentioned in my initial post I don't giva rats a-- about racing some pimply faced retard who has more horse power than sexual encounters.
p.s. and I know your not tryng to be a dick....I have to expect to get hit with the "search" stick when I am a newb. Its the first time for me but the thousandth time this week for you.....I did do a seach though and it neted squat...hence the reqeust for a little direction.

probably cause you can't search two letter words like "LS"
try searching "all motor", "1995 integra", "turbo", "supercharger", and "vtec" under both recent and archived
I've very sure you will find alot of information (more than you could get on this thread you made by searching "vtec" in title, under integra forum, clicking on archived
read all that, then come back and discuss what you have found, and what you are going to go with unless anyone can offer a better option.

Whether you go all motor or FI, IMO a tranny swap would be a nice upgrade.
BTW, how large is your budget? If you're not all too concerned with HP numbers or anything of that sort and just want a fun car, I'd say go ahead with the turbo route.

Yup Yup Yup.........
For a daily driver i would stick with the LS, bolt on's, and maybe a GSR tranny and if you want get some cams. Get the thing dyno tuned and call it a day.
You could also look into low boost 6lbs or less. anything more you have to build the motor.
LS/Vtec you willl have to decide for your self. This is a topic that has been covered a thousand times. Some people love it, and some hate it. It all seems how you build it and how much you spend. I have read a lot of posts about this and I decided to stay with my LS. If i really want Vtec i will do a full GSR swap.

Spend the money on a autox event or HPDE and you will have even more fun.
I have an RS aswell with about 150hp, not much, but once you realize to be happy with what you have, is when you can really enjoy your car.

this is a good point
take your teg to an auto-x, and find out what really makes your teg great is the ability of the driver.
