I have a 97 cx, w/100k mi.. Grinds into 3rd, stubborn in first and reverse from a dig...
What is the cheapest fix for the synchros?? Is Gearworks. 1-909-476-7252 the cheapest aftermarket solution?

how do you know it is the synchro??????

I'm betting worn motor mounts or a bent 1-2 shift fork.

 

worn mounts may have caused the problem, but when sitting still it is stubborn at times to get 1st gear. If I shift to third above 4k rpm, no matter how long I wait, it still grinds.
If you can recomend a good cheap solution for the mounts, I'll change them to make sure.

 

I say just swap for a y8 tranny, upgrade your shifter bushings and motor mount inserts to an ES bushing kit. My EK at 25K miles is stubborn to get into Reverse and would grind once in awhile when it isn't fully engaged into gear, that's why I have to pop it out of gear while stopped and bring it back in.
