radio whip
when i bought my rex it didnt have a stereo in it which isnt a biggy because i planned on installing a cd player, the problem is it looks like when they took out the old one they got lazy and just cut off the wires and there just sticking out of the loom. i could go the easy way out and just run a wire from my fuse box for the yellow and red wires and just ground it out myself but im obsessive compulsive and like to do things right...any suggestions
and the reason i dont wanna buy a installation kit is as you all must know an aftermarket deck fits quite comfortably in a rex/civic console...

you could try and take out your dash and try to extend the wires so they will goo nicely with your deck.... and if you REALLY want you could go to the junkyard and find any honda out there (preferablly a newerone) and see if it still has the stock radio adapter and cut that out... but you might want to make sure that you dont cut the wires too short or else you wont be able to use it.... and then you can go to like walmart or something and get a radio harness adapter and hook that all up and you will be set.... but thats just my 2 pennies
Aftermarket radios normally come with plenty of wire.
You say the wires were cut to the loom so I'm gussing that they are cut behind the radio console which isn't far from the stock location anyway.
I think you could just use that extra wire of the aftermarket radio and just hardwire it in there.
R-type has the solution I would go with though.
Bring it back to stock form with the plug from a junker and then the wire kit from Walmart or where ever.

the problem w/ hardwiring it is if you upgrade your stereo on a regular basis (at least every two years) you're going to have to go through that **** again the next time around. go to the junk yard and rip out the stock wiring harness, then use a wiring adapter.
