Bushing kit...? worth it or no?
I just bought the Energy suspention shift bushing kit and love it. i was wondering if anyone on here has the whole set for our cars and if they like them or not. also are they worth the money.. i found on on EBay for like 120 bucks... Just lookin for other oppions on the kits.. heres a link if some people arnt clear on what im talking about. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT
I was thinking about it but need to change everything out under the car before i do that. would like to hear if anyone has done a bushing set and if it made a big change or not.
Good question
Good question
mo den half tha people say its worth it but tha rest says it ain't its mostly becuz it was not easy to install it and expensive to get it done but in mah opinion its worth it
I had the full kit including TA bushings on my coupe, and it made everything feel nice and solid again, well worth it in my opinion. Why buy expensive parts for the suspension and lose all the benefits due to sloppy bushings?

I have the ES hyperflex master kit. Every bushing on my car is new and polyurethane, lol. I like it alot and it's definitely worthwhile. It reduces loss of steering power (when you turn the wheel, response is improved), increases stiffness of the entire car and reduces lateral movement caused by weight transfer. That's what I've noticed at least.
The hardest part is taking the down time to install all the parts. Pressing them in is easy (you can use a vice) but pressing them out is hard, you'll need a bearing press.
When i did mine, I had new parts not installed on the car, I put the new bushings on those parts, then just put the parts themselves on my car all at once. It's a weekend job if you do it that way.

Exactly how I plan to do the 4 door.
At the time of the coupe I had my own press so it was cake for me to press them out.
If you take out the arms yourself and go to a shop it should only cost 5-10 a bushing to press out.
Take the car to a shop to get it done you could pay 400-500 for them to do all the work.

How worn out is your car/miles? I had the master kit installed while getting the repairs done from my ST sway bar damage. In my opinion, the urethane, while improving the handling (I'm sure) is annoying as hell. You see all these posts about squeeky sway bars being annoying right? Well that is just two little bushings they are crying about. Imagine all of your bushings squeeking in unison...it's like a pack of renegade daucshaunds running around with me with squeeky toys in their mouths-at low speeds. At higher speeds (60+) the noise is drowned out by road noise and I just enjoy the handling.
I can't say for sure how much they improved things since I had so much work done to the car from the ST sway bar all at once.

I had shifter bushings and motor mount inserts when I had my Civic. I definitely liked the shifter bushings. It got rid of the annoying movement of my stick when driving. It also made the shifting feel more precise.
The motor mounts helped the engine stay in place at higher rpm shifts but it made it vibrate more and harder to drive smooth at low rpm's.

well ES came out with new bushings that are suppose to have a graphite lube mixed in with the rubber to help reduce/eliminate the squeaks.. there all black bushings.. anyone have these?

They are self lubricating. They work. But be sure to lube them when installing.
