Default Supercharger and 9.3:1 Compression Motor ?

Hi,

I am getting a VERY good deal on a Jackson Racing Supercharger and I am still putting the GSR Motor together. Now, I would like to know if this Supercharger would work great and make good power with my 9.3:1 Compression Ross Pistons (81.5mm overbore)?

I want to use Hondata with it and bigger injectors, plus a 10 or 12PSI pulley. The head has Skunk2 Valves, Retainers and Dual Springs - I want to get the Stage 2 Cams also. What do you guys think? Will this setup be ??

That wiil be a good compression. No worries if you get good tuning. I'm turboed but still find something appealing about superchargers. It will be a good street setup. You'll be happy unless you want big dyno numbers to brag about.

We have found 10 to 1 comp works about the best with a flat top piton and tight cumbusion.
I have also tuned upto 11.5 to 1 , but it's it's a PITA.

I wouldn't go less than 10:1 myself.

Got your pm. I'll answer your question here if you don't mind.

I never ran a jrsc but I did a ton of research on them before I decided to use a snail. I say 230-240whp is not out of reach with 10psi on that sc. Read every page on that recent topic about the jrsc. One guy says he is making 250whp with like 10 or 12 psi with a few other bolt ons. Also if you plan to boost the sc too high the unit may need to be sent out and reworked to handle the rpms it will be spinning at higher levels of boost. Think about getting an intercooler setup too.

Ok, how are those JE 9.8:1 Pistons? Thinking about selling my Ross 9.3:1 and getting those...

Will it really run bad with 9.3:1??

Lol - I suppose you're talking about the JE Pistons right lol.

Hey guys what about Arias Pistons - they come in 10:1 compression - are those pretty good or better than JE?

lol, no, it was sarcasm. I run 8.8:1 and my car runs fine. With a non-intercooled heat machine JRSC I would go no higher than you are now.

Yeah this is very true. They claim that you lose Hp with cams on their SC. That's kinda odd but I guess it is what it is. So I guess no cams for me. Just stockers.

You ****** you - you had me wondering there for a minute lol

Thx for the info about the comp. I dunno yet, since I already bought the 9.3:1 Ross Pistons - I might just go ahead and use them. Ross makes some great pistons I heard also...

yeah don't do the cams. I'm getting a jrsc on my ride now I'm also getting a different block and head ready. So if anyone could tell me if an ls block with type r pistons and will work alright and the head is most likely going to be a P&P gsr head. sorry didn't mean to thread jack lol
