what to get...
First of all, i just wanted to say that im new here
ok. currently i have a 2002 mitsubishi lancer es A/T. im looking forward on trading my car. i had my eyes on 95-99 gst/gsx. so my brother and i were out checkin out cars and found ourselves having a hard time finding any decent gst/gsx. we ended up in a place where they had 2 civic SIs and 1 Integ GSR.
When we saw that Civic SIs, we fell inlove with it lol. But the integ gsr was smokin. im kinda trugglin if i should go for the eclipse or the integ. a friend of mine told me that hondas got low torque and i should go for the eclipse. i thought he might have been biased cause hes got a lancer like mine but M/T. did a little research on this forum and i found out that b16, the one civic SIs have little torque, thats how i decided to go for the gsr.
well i dont really kno. can you guys please give me some feedback about this thanks.

I have owned both a 99 Si and 00 GSR, I prefer the GSR. It's slightly faster, feels more solid, had leather interior, and just felt more fun to me. Of course, if you want backseat space, the Si might be better.
Ahhh, had to reread that post a couple of times.
I would still go with the gsr, I actually made the same choice years ago between an Eclipse gst and the Si. I hated the interior of the eclipse so much, that even though it was a bit faster and probably had more potential in terms of power via turbo upgrades, that I went with the Si. Reliability could also be an issue, but if you're going to go all out and turbo the GSR anyway, and you don't mind the eclipse's interior, you might want to start out with a stock turbo platform.

I've heard that Eclipse's are known to break down easily due to their weak rods or something like that, it actaully happened to my friend's GSX. So that would be one thing to keep in mind, as well as the weight of the eclipse. Although, many people on here are more bias towards hondas, since this is H-T, i would still recomend the GSR. I've had no problems with it and i'm at about 180k miles now, still strong and hasn't even leaked a drop yet.
I always thought the most common problem with DSMs was crankwalk, so if you get the gst, you can use this handy little page to make sure everything is going well:
