Do Koni Yellows have any advantage over Illuminas besides ride height?
I have gc coilovers and need some new shocks. I already have the height adhustability but will the illuminas be able to handle the spring rates? If i get konis they'll cost about 150 more plus ill need to get the koni sleeves from gc
I don't know what GC spring rates you have. But assuming they are the typical street setup (<350lbs) then you should be ok with the Tokicos. However, the Konis will give you several advantages.
1) Koni range of rebound adjustment is much larger than Tokico - see the shock dyno thread the the top of this forum
2) Konis are rebuildable/revalveable/customizable
3) ALmost everyone knowledgeable on this forum agrees that Konis are a better bang for the buck then Tokico (even though they cost more - the handling improvement is enough to warrant the expense
Get the Konis - but make sure you have the right GC setup to use them - you may need to buy an adapter from GC

Koni and cheap do not go together. Expect to pay $450+ for a brand new set.
