Default hx o2 sensor problem

alright guys i need some help..

i have a 98 hx civic sohc vtech-e.. a couple weeks ago the cel came on and was throwing code 61 (primary oxygen sensor).. so knowing what i needed i just kind of put it off for a few days, then just a couple days ago the light turned off, but my car still feels like its in limp mode and ive been getting crap fuel economy since..

so if my sensor is bad, why did the cel turn off? and is there anyway to check the sensor itself?

also ive searched around for prices on the sensor and for the hx model the cheapest i could fine was $350.. where can i find one cheaper?

the HX has the same problem as the VX, it uses a wideband O2 for the primary.
you may want to check if it's the same as the VX uses you can pick it up new from a few places on line for <$100.

**edit, it's not the same sensor.
