Default type-s pistons

ok i got a h22a4 motor i've done some research and i'm doing the conversion.
From what i got you can stay with your stock rods if you have a A4.

what rings should i get for the pistons?

oem rings should do fine.

and h22a4 rods use the floating wrist pins so its pretty much plug in and play.

what do you mean will it work?

some information might be the same but not all of it is accurate. but depending on the work you want to do... i would go find a prelude manual if you want to do more intense stuff. also check out preludeonline.com its a really good site for preludes.

so, let's say you get a set of Oversized Type S slugs, how intensive is the boring work to get the block bored out to accept them? would it be easier to just get the right A/B combination (which isn't easy.) also, what's the final word on honing?

Boring and honing are two of the main reasons why i decided against going with any kind of after market slugs. Between pulling out the block and taking it somewhere, not to mention the cost of the pistons themselves, was all just too expensive for me.

Now i dont say this to discourage you, as im sure you know what installing a set of pistons in a used block requires, its all about the $$ here.

to get the OS pistons to work you will need a shop that is reputable and carries the right cutting diamond/stone for the frm sleeves. if not say good bye to your sleeves.

i prefer to take the A/B route

in my case its BBBB

A and B have different cylinder bores. the OS is just bigger than the A and B

the one i'm looking at i think is a B set piston. I got the impression that i will not have to bore.

but if igo forged i will, thats why i couldn't just go with forged pistions.

if you go forged you cant bore you have to resleeve.

is the one guy your talking about that guy with a set on egay?

the difference is that a and b have two different bore sizes as said above. its somewhere in the archived you can look it up. if you want to know if you need a or b you can also look it up in archived.

but quickly if you stand in front of your car it is located behind the motor under the head driver side. you might have to wipe down the block to see it.
