Reserve gas light???
Quick question? On a 5th gen prelude should the reserve gas indicator light (orange circle light )come on briefly when the car is started (as an indicator that it is working like all the other warning lights)...
Just noticed that mine doesn't come on so I don't know if it's suppose to or not.

shouldnt come on. and even its below the notch it probably come on shortly after. sometimes it doesnt come on for a while. either way i heard it not good for your engine to be driving on an almost empty gas tank.
man, that gas light must never come on then, cuz im always low, and ive never seen it come on in my 5th gen.. im still wondering.. do 5th gens even have a fuel light???

i'm not sure which is worse, your fuel light not coming on, or mine coming on with 4 gallons left in the tank....either way, i'd just like at the tripometer if you're worried about your amount of gas you have left

At least it doesn't come on in 4th gens when you start it. Only when I'm low on gas, which is like all the time. DAMN YOU GWB!!!</TD></TR></TABLE>
it does in my fourth gen, and it works fine. But hopefully you know how to read a gas gauge so you wont run out even if it were broken

I have never seen my gas light come one either.
I am going to test it one time. I am going to keep a gas can in my trunk and run the car until it runs out of gas to see if it ever comes on.

I highly doubt that. I would imagine 1-2 gallons at the most.

You could be right. I am going based on what they say the gas tank's capacity is compared to what I usually fill up with 1-2 bars left.
I thought they said our gas tanks are 15.9 gallons. I usually fill up the tank using a little over 13 gallons. Again, that's with 1-2 bars showing on the gas guage. I am not sure when the gas light comes on.

ill admit, im horrid about driving with or until the light comes on. i think the most i have ever put into the car is just over 13.5 gallons. with a 15.9 gallon tank that leaves quite a bit of room considering the light comes on at about 305 miles (apx. 13 gallons)
