6th Gen Gas Light ....
I've never really worried about it, and I'm not particularly worried about now ..... but ....
My gas light has never come on. I've owned my car for over two years, and never, not once has it come on.
Other than the bulb, what are some reasons this might happen? I know I don't have a FTP sensor (car doesn't come equiped with one) ... is this the cause?
Help

Re: 6th Gen Gas Light .... (stoopid monkey)
At any given time?
I mean, it's never come on. Even when I've bled my tank dry. Last night, I put 11.22 gallons of gas in my car, the most I've ever put in, and it still didn't come on.

Durp ... I understand how to put gas in my car. It's just something I'd like to function, regardless of if I need it.
It's like how I throw a code with my LS swap because I don't have an FTP sensor. It's not a runability issue, but it pisses me off. Same with my gas light. I don't need it, it doesn't hurt me .... but I still like my car to be in complete working order.

It's not my fault that Jersey has full service stations .... and signs that tell people not to wash their face and hands in drinking fountains

If you put that much fuel in the tank and the light never came on, then you either don't have one, or it is malfunctioning.

Re: 6th Gen Gas Light .... (Targa250R)
I've ridden in my friend's cx hatchie before, and it had a gas light
What would cause it to malfunction?
Fuel sending unit?
Fuel tank pressure sensor?
Bulb?
Cluster harness circuit?

Re: 6th Gen Gas Light .... (Eran)
my first eg had a gas light and it only turned on once in the 6 months that i've owned it. I thought my second eg had a bad cluster but turns out my gas light doesn't work either with 3 different clusters. i'm guessing there isn't a sensor or it malfunctioned after some time and was never recalled because no one really cared.

Re: 6th Gen Gas Light .... (MyEG6)
This is a common problem with the 6th gen civics. I've had my gas light come on I think once and I was scared shittless because it NEVER came on before. I think it's more of an idiot light then a warning light. Kind of like the oil light in hondas.
Funny (and probably pointless) story about the oil light. I spun a bearing in my y8 recently. Before I swapped it out I decided to shoot the rod through the block. So I drained all the oil, turned it on and reved to 6500. The oil light flickered ONCE before the engine blew. Now that's a light that is worth it's weight in gold.

92-95s don't have gas lights, I have a 92si and a 94 ex neither have a gas light, if you want to light up the gas light on your JDM cluster, i believe you have to install an integra sending unit
