Brake question
im changing the brakes on my 91 si, can someone tell me where to look for a step by step instructions, from my knowledge theres only 4 bolts to take out and i can swap the pads, I just dont want to screw it up, brakes are the most important part of the car after all. and help would be appreciated.
If you don't know how to do it. Leave it for the Pro's.
But basically remove 4 bolts that hold the pad and R/R pad and put back.
But you might do with only remove the 2 bottom bolts. Not sure.
You'll probably have to push the caliber back in, so the new pad will fit

four bolts?!?!?! negative... there are only 2 bolts you need to remove, one on each side. if you take wheel off, the bolt on the bottom of the caliper with a rubber boot lookin thing on it is the one you remove, then the caliper just swings up out of the way. the pads are held in a frame and the caliper is a separate peice. if you want some extra room to swing the caliper up out of the way, then you can remove the 2 bolts that are holding the brake line to the front fork. if you have a honda manual it tells you step by step how to do it. you should get one.
thats how to do the front, the rear are much more complicated and you probably dont need to change the shoes anyway.

for sanimalp. Good advice. The '91 Si has disks on the rear, too, so they should be easier than doing rear drums... Don't know from hands-on experience - haven't touched the brakes on my '90 Si yet.

Anyway, if you don't have a manual of any kind for the car, I'd suggest at least a Haynes manual for it. Chilton's suck. Avoid them like the plague. There are some places online that have full versions of the Honda manuals, but most I've seen are for the European-market CRXs; the brake system stuff should be the same, though.
