Default replacing brake pads, Turning bolts or other equip needed.

place charged me 70bucks on labor for changing out pads. THats too much. So i was going to do it my self. Is it hard if you don't know what your doing or is it just swing up the caliper and then place them in and then tighten everything up.

It's pretty easy. Just remember, if you mess it up, you'll be in a horrible firey wreck.

jk

Lift and support the car on jack stands, remove wheel, undo the two 17mm bolts in the back of the caliper, pull caliper off, use a C-clamp to force the piston back in, slap new pads in, put caliper on and tighten those 2 bolts tightly (torque spec escapes me at the moment). Put wheel back on and torque the lugnuts. Pump the brake pedal until firm. Move to the other side. Rear disks are the same except you have to screw the piston back in.

Don't forget a liberal application of antisqueal compound too.

You won't need to touch the bleeder screws. Some people say to open them up, but don't. No sense in introducing air into your brake system.

ONE PROBLEM: the pass. side doesn't have a "shim" for the outer pad. I installed the pads w/o it. I guess they forgot to put it on when i went to put on the AEM ones<<<<POS didn't even last a year. Do i need it.

You don't need one, but if you're switching rotors and getting good pads, I'd go ahead and bleed the system and get the shim while you're at it.
