What do U think? Do we need a transmission forum?
I really don't see the need as there's not enough tranny specific information to justify a separate forum. Most of the general problems with tranny's are solved in the model specific forums, or here in the tech forum. Most of the tranny upgrade topics are discussed in forums such as RR/AX, All Motor, FI, or the model specific forums, and even so the number of tranny specific posts is relatively small. Most of the questions asked have been answered a thousand times before as well.

I believe that'll be a great idea I'm seeing more and more questions about how to remove tranny, how to change final drive, remove main bearing, etc. and not just "what tranny should I get" threads. With all these members every tranny has been removed or cracked opened. A tranny forum would be very helpful to even the most experience tranny guru or the greenest noob around. got my vote

Aside from the three most prevailent questions "How can I tell if I have a LSD?", "Why does my tranny grind going into third?" and "someone took off the tag, how do I tell what tranny I have?" IMO a section devoted to transmission questions would not be worth it. Instead, a read only sub forum with some good quality write ups on IDing LSD, gear sets, cases, along with some how-to's on changing final drives, swap 5th gears, what FDs, and gears are compaitble with what tranmissions etc...would be more of a benefit.

It would indeed. I want to know if a 5th gear from an M2L5 tranny will fit into an SI tranny...
