Just bought a 05 Civic VP Manual, need info on adding a tach!
Hey guys, first time honda owner and i was wondering the best way to add a tach to the gauge cluster on my new 05 civic vp manual. If anyone knows what my options are that info would be highly appreciated. If i can get a replacement cluster with the tach in there that would be great if the circuit board is already wired for it which i dont know. If worse comes to work i am sure i can get some sort of aftermarket and mount it somewhere in the car, but this is an absolute last resort for me and i dont know if i want to. I appreciate any and all info that you guys can provide me on this. Right now i just have the speedo on the right and the fuel/temp on the left of the two main gauge enclosures. The two smaller ones on the left and right are empty. Thanks guys!

I would look into changing the cluster from an LX or EX (something with a tach). That would be easiest and look the best, IMO.

EDIT: If you get an OEM cluster, it should be "plug and play" to get the tach working.

Ok, that sounds like good info. Best places to look??? ebay, craigs list etc??? what years might be compatible with the 05 one that i have now? Thanks for the reply!

I would say that the 01-up should be compatible with your 05, since that's when they made the changes. However, in 04 they did a slight outer body upgrade, but I would think the "guts" of the car stayed the same.
