dsm blow off valve

Default dsm blow off valve

what does it mean when they say that the bov is uncrushed. are they supposed to have a small dent on the top? thanks

They can bleed under boost or sometimes even at idle so people crush them. I'm not sure about the dent, I haven't crushed one myself.

so how do you go about crushing them? anyone know if they are sipposed to have a small dent at the top?

You put it in a vice and slowly "crush" it until the vacuum nipple just barly touches the outter edge of the bov. However, you can crush it more or less, depending on how much boost your running.

i think they hold like 18psi uncrushed, if i was running more than that id have some other bov.

i've never done it myself so i don't truly know, but i thought it was just the center of the top of the BOV that gets crushed?

but anyways, it just puts more pressure on the spring inside so it takes more pressure from the system to open it up.
