go here this will help you out if your confused with wiring, and what ohm subs and amp to get, hope this help.

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com...d.asp

as far as the Alpine Type R's they are a very clean hitting sub (sq) even in a ported box and they are half the price of the JL W6v2

2 type r in 4 ohm you have to get a 1000w amp that runs in 1 ohm
i would recomend this amp
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com...13120
you can find this amp cheaper on ebay and i think you should get a ported box

well since alpine doesn't have a mono block amp that is 1 ohm stable, than that means you have to get dual 2 ohm subs which you can run in 2 ohms. so that being said you have to get this amp

Get two 4 ohm subs and the alpine 500 or 1000 watt amp.

umm yea don't listen to this guy just get the 2 type r 12's in the dual 2 ohm and get the mrd-m1005 and you will be running in a 2ohm load, 1000 watts, 500 to each, thats perfect.

Another good amp for them is the JL Audio 1000/1 1000 watts rms into 1.5 - 4 ohms, then it makes no diff. if you get the SWR1222D or the SWR1242D

Although I am an Alpine fan, for sub bass I think the JL is the better amp, if the subs are installed in a proper sealed box, proper volume, proper bracing, proper seal, [airtight] and the box gets mounted to the car properly, and the amp is installed and wired properly, with a [2 farad cap] the sub bass will be tight, accurate and very loud, [if you want it to be] 94

The 500 watt amp is plenty. That is what I have powering mine and I have the same subs. As for the 2 4 ohm subs, that is my bad, I was thinking they were SVC subs, so yes... Get 2 2ohm subs to run a 2 ohm load. If you can afford it get the mrd-m1001 or 1005, I got the mrd-m501 because I didn't have the extra cash for the 1000 watter.

so if you have the money get the mrd-m1005 and the 2 12's dual 2ohm subs but if not you can go with what civic_speed99 said.

i would go with what i said earilier, it will sound better. if you go sealed it will sound very clean, but if you go ported it will be a little louder but not as clean as sealed. so you choose which you would be more happy with.

and btw you can get the Alpine MRD-M1005 for about $347 on ebay, that was the cheapest price that i saw.
