Default Slow start problem with AEM EMS?

I have a recently turbo'd S, with AEM EMS installed, and the car starts slowly all the time... only after 3-5 cranks will it turn over. I know its not hurting anything, but it doesn't sound good. I went to a very reputable AEM tuner, and he told me that was normal, but is it? Anyone else with this problem?

all AEM's do that. it has to do with how it reads the crank angle and TDC sensors comapred to stock. completely normal...no worries.

i would give AEM a call.......

my friend had the same problem on his s/c s2k

however, it burned out his starter.......

well, they sent the computer back to AEM and it was replaced b/c something was wrong with it......

i don't know exactly what it was, but they warrantied it.....

check it out.....

it should only be about a half second to a second slower starting then stock, if its anymore, its likely its the tune, and your engine start parameters need to be adjusted.

more specifically, the initial crank pulse and injector crank time tables.
