For those of you that have repainted your valve covers . . .
Are you noticing any durability issues? If you had to do it all over again would you shell out the extra cash for powder coating?
just make sure to completely strip any old paint, dirt, grease, etc off and you should be fine... done it many times with no problems
i painted mine, and it does chip if you accidently hit it with a tool, powdercoating would elimate the chance of that.

That's after i blasted it....Primed it with Krylon white primer.....Then Fire engine red Construction grade....
Then hand painted the letters.....

use high temp paint, works fine no problem. i usually freshen it up whenever the valve cover comes off for valve clearance adjustments or seals or what not. you know to get rid of the dirty shat on it.

And as of right now after 7months having completed the B16a swap...The motor has no scratches or chipping....alot of blow back from the ground rushing up on it...but other then that....she's sparkles after a run through the dishwasher....hehehehe.
