Common problems for late 80s Civic?
Hi, I'm new on the board.
I'm taking a look at a 1989 Civic Wagon this weekend, and I was wondering if there are any particular problems I should be forewarned about.
I have a little experience with Hondas, and know the CV joints don't last that long and the body can be prone to rust. Are there any other ocmponents to watch out for?

Off the top of my head:
Main relay
ignitor and/or coil
In general, there is most likely going to be a lot of wear and tear on certain components like the suspension, interior, and cooling system. These cars are at least 15 years old, so finding one in excellent condition might be hard.

Also, don't sweat the condition of the motor too much. Engine swaps of various types are a way of life for most people who have these cars. MUCH more important is the condition of the body. A car with a bad motor and good body is generally MUCH more desirable than a car with a good motor and bad body.
