I got a question if anybody has done this swap. My brother wants to put a JDM motor in his EK, but he's undecided on which one to put in a B18C or a H22A? Which one will be easier to do a swap without any complications and what type of complications he might run into to do the swap?

do the b18c cause there's a bunch of things that you need to do to to complete a h22 swap,like certen modafacation. plus b18 is a little bit lighter. i got a b18c5 in my ek and i love it . good luck

First off are you talking bout the B18C1 or C5, I guess it doesn't matter they're both gonna swap right in the trannys are already hydro you will pretty much just need the mount kit and I would recommend checking out HAS sport in Phoenix because they probably have the most experence of anyone w/ honda/acura swaps enough so that SCC trusts em. It might be a bit of a pain if the car has no VTEC stock because swaping in a VTEC engine is gonna require some nonesense w/ the electronics and oil but it will all be pretty simple. The H22 on the other hand is a DoEs AnYoNe KnOw WheRe I CaN GeT SoMe StRObE LiTEZ AnD LiGhT uP WiNdShiElD NoZzLeS??ing pain, you're gonna lose power steering and a/c probably, I have heard people doing it w/ out taking out one or the other but others say its impossible. If I am missing anything please let me know.

Well I see that the engine mounts are different in the EK. Can I use this mount with the swap or do I have to frabricate or Buy a Mount kit? Also, what about the wiring harness? Can I still use the Civic with this swap and just run my own Vtec wires?

 

you will need a driver side engine mount from a 99+ civic si. you can use your stock dx harness and add the vtec wires or you can use 96+ civic ex wiring harness.
